It's a bit sad that one of the art material shops in my town is closing down shortly, however, they currently have a 50% off sale on everything! This week therefore I went down and stocked up on a couple of hundred pounds worth of art materials (£400+ actual retail value.)
Among my stash were these little beauties ........ Sennelier oil pastels. As oil pastels go, Sennelier are la creme de la creme! Wonderfully soft and buttery, and like no other oil pastels, in my opinion. I grabbed one of each colour that was left in stock, including gorgeous gold, silver and bronze and a couple of blacks. Lucky me .... at well, less than a pound each, these were an absolute bargain. Well chuffed.

I was so inspired by the Rite Of Spring ballet that I watched on Youtube the other night, I have started an artwork, loosely inspired by the make up and costume. Not sure whether it will make it into my collection, but I've really enjoyed making a start on it this morning. It's probably about a quarter to a third done. Lots more work to do on it yet, particularly the hand (my bugbear - I'm terrible at hands!) Anyway, will see how it goes.

Well, I am over the moon! Just found out I am one of the runners up in this annual open exhibition. Whoo hoo!!!!! I nearly didn't enter either, as you can see, I had a bad case of procrastination in the run up to the event, as outlined in my blog post for the Creative Nottingham website. Thank you to Surface Gallery for giving me the opportunity to show some of my work in Nottingham.
Surface Gallery have a Summer 'street art' open too and I am really looking forward to that. Will definitely be entering some pieces into that as I feel my style would fit (hopefully).
This happened the other day ...... (see photo.) I actually had a tidy up in the studio as it was getting so I couldn't see the floor! I am a 'minimalist' so when I see things getting untidy and cluttered I start to panic. I need things clear so my mind can be clear too. Don't know how long it will stay like this but it was a really cathartic exercise!
